YOGA FOR BALANCE AND STRENGTH

  • Objective

Improve balance and strength safely through supportive, chair-assisted yoga with expert guidance.

  • Instructor: Shuva Rahim

  • Fridays at 8:30 am

Reserve your spot for the Wednesdays that you can attend.

  • Small on Purpose

No more than 5 people so everyone gets individual attention.  We think it’s important that your teacher knows you and builds a relationship with you so she can help you get the most out of each session!

  • Schedule Ahead

Get in the habit of moving on a regular basis by scheduling ahead your weekly sessions. Simply let us know and we’ll schedule you on going for your favorite sessions.  If you need to miss a session just let us know by email or by phone.  When it comes to improving your balance consistency is key!  You’ll love the confidence you’ll gain by joining this weekly session.

  • What to Wear

Wear comfortable fitting clothes that allow your body to move.  It’s important to be comfortable when you are working out.  When you are distracted by anything, including what you are wearing, you’re not spending as much time focused on the important things!!  Most people go barefoot or wear grippy socks for this session, but you can wear tennis shoes for this small group if you prefer.

Why choose this session?

Yoga for Balance & Strength is a gentle, supportive small-group yoga session designed especially for women 50+ who want to feel steady, strong, and confident in their bodies. This class focuses on balance, functional strength, mobility, and ease of movement—without rushing, forcing, or “keeping up.”
Every session is thoughtfully taught using props and even a chair, so your yoga practice truly meets you where you are. Whether you’re brand new to yoga, returning after a break, or looking for a class that feels accessible and empowering, this is a space where you can move safely, explore options, and build confidence at your own pace.

What if I don’t know Yoga?

You are very welcome here.

This class is beginner-friendly and thoughtfully designed for people who are new to yoga, returning after time away, or looking for a gentler, more supportive approach. No prior yoga experience is needed, and flexibility is not a requirement.

Shuva will guide you through each movement, offering clear cues and showing options that use a chair to support balance and safety. You are encouraged to move at your own pace, take breaks when needed, and choose the version of each pose that feels right for your body.
