Mobility is freedom. It’s what lets us do the things we love—whether that’s walking with ease, chasing after grandkids, dancing in the kitchen, or simply getting down to the floor and back up again with confidence.

That’s why this April, we’re putting the spotlight on mobility—and inviting you to join our April Mobility Challenge!

What’s the Challenge?

This month’s challenge is all about consistency, not intensity. Each day, you’ll spend just a few minutes focusing on three key areas that are essential for lifelong mobility:

  • Your feet
  • Your hips
  • Your hamstrings

We’ve included three simple yet powerful movements—ones we recommend all the time to clients at Rivercity Pilates. Practiced daily, these movements will help you create three new healthy habits that support your body for years to come.

And here’s the bonus: These three movements also support better balance.

Whether you do them with your morning coffee, at your desk, or while winding down at night, they’re easy to fit into your day.

The Daily Mobility Trio

  1. Feet: Roll It Out
Use a small ball or roller to gently massage the bottom of each foot. You can do this standing or sitting—whatever works best for you.
No ball? No problem. Try slow, mindful foot circles instead.

  2. Hips: Figure 4 Stretch
Open up your hips with this stretch, holding for 30 seconds to a minute on each side.
You can do it seated in a chair (super accessible!), lying on your back, or however feels best in your body.

  3. Hamstrings: Stretch It Out
You can stretch your hamstrings from a standing, seated, or lying-down position. A yoga strap or band can make this even more comfortable and effective.

You can stick with the same stretch each day or mix it up. The goal is to explore what works for you and make it a consistent part of your routine.

Stay Motivated, Win Prizes!

We’ve created a brand-new challenge tracker that makes it easy to stay consistent.
You can check off each movement as you go—whether you do all three at once or spread them out through the day.

Turn in your completed tracker at the end of the month and you’ll be entered to win a FREE small group session at the studio!

Let April Be the Month You Move More Freely

You don’t need a ton of time—or a fancy routine—to feel better in your body.    Just a few minutes a day can create a big shift in how you move, feel, and live.

Ready to commit to better mobility?

When was the last time you thought about training your feet?

If your answer is “never,” you’re definitely not alone—but we think it’s time that changed. Your feet are your foundation. They carry you through life—literally—and when they’re strong and mobile, everything about how you move improves.

That’s exactly why we’re inviting you to our Pilates for Your Feet Workshop on Sunday, April 6th from 3–4:15 PM at Rivercity Pilates!

Why focus on your feet?

When your feet feel tired or achy, your first instinct might be to kick off your shoes or find a new pair. But what if, instead of switching shoes, you strengthened the muscles in your feet and improved their mobility? You might be amazed at how big of a difference that small shift can make in your daily life.

As movement professionals, we see it all the time—clients who start giving a little more attention to their feet find themselves improving in balance, stability, posture, and even overall strength.

And if you’re over 50, you may already know how crucial this is. Maybe your balance isn’t what it used to be. Maybe navigating stairs, uneven sidewalks, or slippery floors doesn’t feel quite as easy anymore. Foot strength and mobility play a huge role in preventing falls and staying active—and this workshop is designed to help with exactly that.

What to expect in the workshop

This 75-minute, all-levels workshop will show you how the Pilates method can specifically support your feet. You’ll:

  • Learn how Pilates strengthens and mobilizes the feet

  • Explore basic Pilates movements with a focus on foot engagement

  • Use two specialized pieces of Pilates equipment created by Joseph Pilates just for your feet

  • Walk away with tools to integrate foot health into your everyday movement

Whether you’re brand new to Pilates or you’ve been practicing for years, this workshop will give you a fresh perspective on how powerful foot training can be.

This workshop is for you if:

  • You’ve ever had tired, sore, or stiff feet

  • You want to improve your balance and stability

  • You’re curious about fall prevention strategies

  • You love learning new ways to get more out of your Pilates practice
