INTRO TO PILATES MAT

Small Group Session

  • Objective

To introduce participants to the fundamentals of Pilates Mat in a small group setting, providing individualized guidance, building confidence, and preparing them to transition comfortably into ongoing sessions.

  • Instructor: Shelley Waldron

Shelley began her Pilates journey more than 10 years ago at Rivercity Pilates and quickly developed a deep appreciation for the intentional, purposeful movement behind each exercise. Over the years, her practice has helped her build strength, improve balance, and stay active as she’s grown older.

She is passionate about helping others experience those same benefits and creating a supportive, welcoming environment where clients feel comfortable learning and moving in their bodies.

  • 4th Wednesday of every month at 6:00 pm

Reserve your spot for the Thursdays that you can attend.  Consistency is the key to feeling results in your body!

  • Small on Purpose

No more than 5 people so everyone gets individual attention.  We think it’s important that your teacher knows you and builds a relationship with you so she can help you get the most out of each session!

A supportive first step into Pilates.

Not sure where to start with Pilates? You’re not alone—and this is exactly where to begin.

In this small group Intro to Pilates Mat session (limited to just 5 participants), you’ll be guided through the fundamentals of Pilates in a way that feels approachable and doable. You’ll learn how to move with better alignment, connect to your core, and understand the purpose behind each exercise—so you’re not just following along, but actually learning.

With individual attention, clear instruction, and options for every body, you’ll be supported every step of the way—no prior experience needed.

By the end of the session, you’ll feel more comfortable in your body and confident stepping into our ongoing small group Pilates Mat sessions.

A supportive first step to help you get started—and keep moving.

This session is safe and recommended for those with osteopenia and osteoporosis.

What to wear:

Wear comfortable fitting clothes that allow your body to move.  It’s important to be comfortable when you are working out.  When you are distracted by anything, including what you are wearing, you’re not spending as much time focused on the important things!!  Most people go barefoot or wear grippy socks for this session, but you can wear tennis shoes for this small group if you prefer.
