SMALL GROUP STRENGTH CIRCUITS

Colleen Rhodes, Certified Athletic Trainer
  • Objective

Build strength safely and confidently through short intervals and supportive, hands-on coaching.

  • Instructor: Colleen Rhodes

After more than 10 years of retirement, Colleen decided it was time to “get back in the game.” Why?

“Navigating the aging process and tuning out the anti-aging propaganda in a youth-obsessed culture is an ongoing challenge. I chose to be proactive in my own aging journey by researching and practicing what I call a pro-aging lifestyle—focused on improving and maintaining functional wellness. Now, I’m passionate about helping other women do the same.”

Colleen holds a Master’s Degree in Sports Psychology and Health Behavior from the University of Iowa, is a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine, and is a Certified Health Coach through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. She is also the former owner of Body and Balance and Rhodes to Fitness.

  • Mondays and Wednesdays at 8:00 and 9:00 AM

These classes are popular, so you’ll want to reserve your preferred time  early!

  • Small on Purpose

No more than 5 people in this group so everyone gets individual attention.  We think it’s important that your teacher knows you and is able to give you specific guidance on how to practice exercises safely and most effectively in your body.  Pilates is in the details and we think you’ll love how your teacher’s guidance helps you get the most out of your session time!

  • Schedule Ahead

Get in the habit of moving on a regular basis by scheduling ahead your weekly sessions. Don’t worry- we can help!  Our team will take care of all of your scheduling needs,  so you just have to show up when your calendar tells you to!

Why choose this session?

Strength Circuit is designed to help you build real, functional strength in a way that feels approachable, supportive, and effective. Each session is set up as a series of 30-second stations, which keeps the class moving, engaging, and surprisingly doable. Thirty seconds goes by quickly—and before you know it, you’ve completed a full-body workout.

Every station offers multiple options, so you can choose the version of each exercise that feels right for your body that day. Whether that means using lighter weights, adjusting your range of motion, or taking a slower pace, you’re always encouraged to work at a level that feels comfortable and sustainable.

The small group format allows for individual attention, and Colleen is right there with you, coaching form, offering cues, and making sure you’re performing each movement safely and effectively. The focus is on building strength with intention—not rushing, not comparing, and not pushing beyond what feels appropriate.

What to wear:

Wear comfortable fitting clothes that allow your body to move.  It’s important to be comfortable when you are working out.  When you are distracted by anything, including what you are wearing, you’re not spending as much time focused on the important things!!

What if I’m new to Strength Training?

You are truly in the right place.

Strength Circuit is intentionally designed for people who are new to strength training or returning after time away. The 30-second stations are short and approachable, and every exercise has built-in options so you can ease in at your own pace.

Colleen will help you choose weights and variations that feel safe and manageable, and she’ll keep an eye on your form throughout class to be sure you’re moving in a way that supports your body. You’re never expected to keep up with anyone else or push through discomfort.

Many of our clients begin strength training for the very first time in this class—and often leave feeling more confident, capable, and energized than they expected.
